Bank Holiday SUNDAY [Edited]- MTB Leith Hill

Postby Andrew G » Thu Apr 22, 2010 12:19 pm

[edit: As per the MTB on Sunday thread and Marco's suggestion propose this is on Sunday as per Graham's post - so a 10am at Peaslake meet with loop back options to collect late comers
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11115]

I'm planning to head over to Leith Hill and that area (Holmbury/Pitch) on Bank Holiday Monday with the MTB.

Shall we say a 10am start from Peaslake village stores that way people can get there for then or ride over from an earlier start from somewhere else.

No real plans just a fair amount of riding at a not too dawdling pace, but still a social ride. We could cut back towards Peaslake for 12.30-1 so that folk could head for home or have a snack stop before doing anouther 1.5-2hrs.

Can we please start at 10 though, It's a bit annoying when you make the effort to get there and be ready and have to wait around for another half an hour.

I'm keen for this, and totally agree with cutting down the waiting around. I'm at the mercy of the very infrequent trains to Gomshall, though, so could we make it ready to go at 1015 or, preferably, 1030?

Sounds like a good idea I'll put it on the upcoming rides list.

Just need to agree a time then or maybe two times , suggesting 9.30/10.00 and 10.30/11.00. An hour is enough time to get a decent loop in and back to Peaslake to collect the late starts.

Aodan.

I'll see if I can get out for this. If I can I would start @ the Volunteer and meet you guys up in the hills before the loop back down to peaslake. The Volunteer? Oh yeah - yummy food and a pint plus a bike wash facility.

Mmmmmm, offroading

Sounds like a good idea to me Aodan. Shall we say 9.30 and 10.30 at Peaslake then, that way people who can only do a morning can get a decent ride in before they have to head off which is what I was trying to avoid with a prompt departure.

Er, having started this I now feel a bit guilty saying I won't be there  . Originally I went for Monday as PVT's ride was going to be Sunday but he has to commisaire on Sunday.

I shall join Graham on Sunday instead but I'm sure my lack of attendance on Monday doesn't mean your enjoyment of looning it about the woods will be lessened.
