Hi Mari, I haven't planned to ride through Tooting/Balham but if you can't get to Vauxhall bridge at 11.15am we should pass by Stockwell Station at or close to 11am. Send me a PM if you like and I'll give you my mobile number :D

Are you sorted for a route?

I've recently started working in Hounslow and have tried a variety of routes for the 10 mile stretch from Putney to Hounslow and I guess that would be part of your journey?

Sean / Sylv

I was thinking also to ride up to the TOB route to see if I could pick up some large cardboard hands/inflatable tubes etc for use at the ACC event. Sylv, what time are you leaving croydon?

I'm going to be slowish but you should be going steady if you are racing.

Mari, might be a good idea to delete your moby number from that last post. I think the forum is still open to all and sundry!
I'm driving up so will see everyone there. Can give a couple of lifts back to CSS as car's got 3 bike thingies on the roof.

Thanks to all for organising.
That was my first race on a road bike and without doubt the toughest thing I have ever done on a bike! Dropped after the first lap and with no long draggy hills to claw my way back I toiled around on my own for most of the race. Adam, Sylv and the A's lapped me four or five times, the B's at least twice. Huw calling me in for my last lap was the sweetest thing I heard all day. 17 miles at an average 19 mph. I've done quicker club runs; averaged over 18mph for the first 60 miles of last year's etape, 17 for the whole of that year's Dragon Ride. Neither of those compare to today's race.
I have the utmost and total respect for anyone who races regularly. As for the pros, this has to be the hardest way to earn a living in professional sport.
I hope to do it again, but shall ensure to do more training. Any tips/advice gratefully accepted!
Thanks again to everyone.
