A restoration project - 1955 Carpenter - SOLD

My Dad is slowly realising that he won't be able to keep riding - he's barely ridden a bike for the last few years :(

So he has decided to sell a couple of his bikes. The first is a Carpenter that he bought from new on 6th April 1955. The details from the receipt are as follows:

"One 22 1/2" Super club frame no. 4858 to specification 73 deg x 71 deg, oval to round forks, Reynolds '531' butted tubes throughout. 41" wheelbase, 10 3/4 bottom bracket with 27" wheels. Brazed gears and brake eyes, etc. Finished in bright red enamel, lugs picked in gold."

Original price £12.10.0 8)

The frame itself is sound but is in need of a repaint... and not all the equipment is of the right period as Dad changed bits over the years.

I will confirm the price once we've heard back from the marque specialist but please contact me if you would like to see it or have pictures sent to you.

Forgot to say that F H Carpenter was based in Kingston upon Thames and was a lightweight cycly specialist - ok, by today's standards but back then...
