I'm guessing this is the start of the "clear out the junk to make room for the twins" project.

I'll take the rear wheel off your hands Hal....and sooner rather than later as my commute bike is making VERY scary noises this week. Investigation of said noises on Sunday afternoon established that the freehub (I think that's what it's called - the sticky out bit wot you slide the cassette onto) is wobbling around...which doesn't seem right...and it'll be reassuring to have a spare wheel to hand whilst I investigate whether this can be repaired or if I need to replace it. Does anyone know about these things??? Can it be salvaged with new bearings? If so how does one get to the bearings?? Or should the whole freehub thing need replacing....(again...how?) or do I just need to buy a new wheel???? Either way, knowing my lack of fettling skills and general impatience with all things mechanical I think it would be prudent to have a plan B lest this venture into freehub spannering takes longer than an evening.

I'll txt you to arrange pick up.

 Tamar. Depends on the type of hub as to whether the freehub is easily removable and serviceable. Rim brakes? What are the rim surfaces like? May end up cheaper picking up a bargain sale wheel if you're going to need to replace the rim soon as well.

Hi Hal

I'm interested in the workstand however I'm out of country until 10 October. If you don't sell it by then, I'll probably take it.

Can you tell me is it stable when the bike is on it though?

Thanks
Iliya

Thanks for the interest, the wheels have now all been taken. Sorry Tamar, some one on freecycle has taken it, along with much other stuff from the garage clear out operation.

Phil has PM'd about the work stand but needs to find space first. I will let you know the outcome.
