For Sale - Some of a Bike and some excellent TT aero bars

Postby Snoop Doug » Thu Mar 19, 2009 10:45 pm

I'm selling what's left of my old faithful Stelvio. Frame, forks, front derailleur, cranks, brake calipers, seat post. Campag. It's all fitted together and could quite easily be built up into a nice spare bike. I reckon £30 is good value for this lot. What do you think?

Plus....a set of HED carbon TT aero bars. These are tip top gear, brand new they sell for around £400. They are in v good nick, few rubs on transfers. These sell 2nd hand on TT forums for about £250 plus. I had a good year out of these and would let them go for around £100. Haven't got a really good pic but hope this'll do. Oh - you'll need to get your own bar end shifters, I've had those away :)

Seat tube will do or if you tell me how tall you are, that would probably do.

They're the ones that came with the Aerolab V04 bike Adam. Probably okay as they are not the current style of base bars which are razor thin.

New UCI interpretations are nuts where they consider the base bar to be part of the bike structure so has to comply  . They also say it's part of the steering controls so has to comply with a different set of rules at the same time too. I haven't read all of it but I can't believe that the seatpost which is part of the "fuselage" doesn't also have to comply with the 3:1 ruling. In which case I'd have though that most TT bikes would fail on that. Standard UCI lunacy, the ruling's only meant to be there to make you use a "tubed" frame and not a Lotus style monocoque, or have fairings.

Lots of UK testers racing under CTT regs keeping tabs on the bar issue to see if they can pick up some bargains when they all have to be slung out.
