CR report 25th September

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

[quote="Andrew G"]Nothing to do with not accepting criticism or welcoming Toks, personally I think it's a fairly friendly forum. I think with most it's a case of not being that keen on having their ride posts pissed on (whether a joke or not) by someone who has appeared to have definite views on the club's rides and what people should say about their ride without ever seeming to post a report on their rides, or organise a ride for others to enjoy.
.
Erm... I was trying get to the issue of open forums versus club forums - there are cultural differences and people learn to post accordingly. In simple terms I can say my team is "rubbish" but you can't come on my team's forum and say its "rubbish". It has everything to do with criticism. On at least 3 debates non ACC members have sent me PM's because of not wanting to criticize 'our club' as you would on an open forum. The fact that we're a friendly forum is not in doubt - clearly thats the case coz we don't lock out or block lurkers unlike other clubs.

Perhaps it just me, but I found jojo's comments quite amusing and although he has obviously stirred it up a bit I think he is trying to make a point. Ok a bit long winded but as Andrew Green mentioned we are a cycling club not the mafia then let the guy/girl have an opinion on the cr and let people debate, rant etc (isnt that what forums are all about?) Remember we are a club of over 300 members and a very small % post on this forum and kicking this person down for a controversial opinion will only scare those who may be thinking about posting an "opinion". This forum is one element of our club and a window to potential new members and if we come across as not being very inclusive and completely dismiss a persons comments then to me that feels a bit to use Andrew's phrase "mafia"like.

[quote="marco"]Jojo is a recurring troll who uses a multitude of false identities and has tried to cause trouble since 2005 on the forum (and previously succeeded). I may not like some aspects of the way club runs have always been organised lately but I like people who try to derail the club while hiding behind false fronts even less.

Ok, I didn't realise this was an ongoing problem. :(

I sensed as much looking at "Jojo's" history. Used to have a lot of people like that on the motorbike forums when I used to prefer the Cancellara* kind of bike.

Just a bit sad that some people are that pathetic that they don't have better things to do.

Is it me or are there cracks begining to appear within the club? It seems to me the comments are getting more than just tongue in cheek, or maybe i'm reading it all wrong :?
