CR 09-10-10

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

CR 09-10-10

First off, respect to those who took charge following the return ride crash, especially Ed. A single rider appeared to be hurt, but after a while seemed to be walking-wounded. Wisely an ambulence was called. Any update on the patient?

The Training Group appears to be becoming more popular. I'd guess 16 or so set off from CSS. The final sprint came down to a photo finish, but in the absence of photographic equipment, Sylv took on the job of finish line judge. Any verdict Sylv?

(Apologies to Jo-Jo for the "same-old" ACC-CR-TG report.  )

A few announcements from Tim at the cafe: AGM in early December. Looks like there will be a new Captain next year. Remember you need to attend the AGM if you want a say in who runs the club. Also the Club Dinner in January.

Apparently Ant was exploring his leadership role in 'his' group, kicking the T&O into shape.

Ha ha fell on deaf ears at times though :D

Good ride down with the 19's. Picked up a couple TG abandons on the way down. T&O started off well but then kind of fell apart. Its really not that difficult to get right guys  Usual case of people riding off the front blissfully unaware of whats going on behind them. If your peddling away on the front and no ones coming around you to take their turn then obviously somethings not quite right eh Lee blah blah blah...

Good sprint with Steve B, he did a good lead out and we were neck and neck rubbing handlebars at one point(sorry about that fella) and crossed the invisible line together.

Came out of the cafe after queuing for the latrine only to see everyone had buggered off leaving just 4 of us to try catch up. Unfortunately this happened rather quickly as we came across the accident as mentioned by Keith. Not sure who was the injured party, saw Lee looking a bit dazed?, hope who ever it was is ok though.

Nice ride back, pace was quite quick and it all kicked off as per usual once back on the way to CSS after the Merstham, put in a couple of really hard long efforts after Andy W had kicked things off.

Hope I haven't bored anyone too much.

Last ride with the Addiscombe cycling club before I head off down under. The usual antics and banter on the alternative cr and a great day out . I have lots memories to take with me and I have made some fantastic lasting friendships from the club. All the best until next time and ride safe.

I had a great ride with the alternative ride, lots of fun and banter, i felt strong today and it was a evenly matched group with no one strugling, all was going well untill Robyn's rear mech broke off, we got told by Phil (the power) that she managed to get the train home ok,we had a great cafe stop with excelent cake and REAL coffee! It was good to be able to say goodbye to Rob Q, and i wish him all the best in Oz (nice new glasses by the way :D ), soz i had to make a break for it, but i had to get back sharpish to watch a rugby match, Myself, Steve W and another who's name i have forgotton :( made a good pace back, Steve was suffering from the night before and started to slip just before Reigate, but we knew the others would sweep him up :D all in all a great day with great company :D see you all next week.

Hell yeah Red wine, Ameretto and a few too many beers saw me arrive at CS still feeling the effects :(

Took a while to get into my stride and was going ok considering that I was feeling so rough. Said Bye to Rob and headed back with Mr Avery's tear up which always seems a bit quicker when theres a rugby match to go to at the end. Threw the towel in just before Reigate and then decided to go on the chase only to take a wrong turn and go on a tour of Reigates posh hilly estates.

Swept up. I don't think so did'nt see another rider on the road untill past Bultlers.

On the whole great ride 48 miles with a few hills and home by 12:30

I'm staying in next Friday :(

Everyone knows it's the left post that we sprint to :D It was hard work chasing George down, especially when Dave K took up the chase, i was deep inside the pain cave then  Great TG again, every week there's more than the last, great stuff! Let's hope it continues into the winter.

Might be an idea to get all those interested in racing next year to join forces in the coming winter months and plan ahead a bit about what races we can do. Team ACC could be a force to be reckoned with if we get ourselves sorted :D

Don't know who got the sprint as I was 20 meters behind with my head over the bars trying to squeeze the last bit of effort out after desperately hanging on from the dual carriageway.
According to my 310XT garmin I burnt off 2500 calories total round trip. First time I've used it on the bike so maybe there's some setting I need to change for bike use.
Will try to keep these up when the road conditions are good.

Sorry to hear about the off. Didn't know about it until everyone reached the church. Hopefully noone was seriously hurt.

cheers
