WEDNESDAY MORNING ROAD RIDES

Sounds good, and I'd like to join you. But not sure I could make wednesdays at the moment as I need to drop my monkey off at 9:30 and pick him up at 12 in Caterham. If your coming over this way then let me know and maybe I could meet you somewhere, and escape from the housework I get till 3:30 on Mondays and Fridays, if anyone can make another day during termtime??

Cheers for organising this marco. I don't think I've ever had new year cobwebs blown away so literally. It was a gusty day for sure, not the kind of weather I enjoy being out in. Still - I have a handful of 2011 miles under my belt already, here's to many more.

A nice steady ride out on the lanes took us to the bottom of Saltbox where we followed the valley road taking all of the very hilly twists and turns to Tatsfield village on country lanes. From there we went up and crossed the main biggin hill road and followed more little lanes to Berry's Green and then onto Downe Village. Unfortunately the cafe was shut so we did the exhilarating route back to Coney Hall, downhill virtually all of the way and with the wind behind us. Stopped off for a very Agreeable light lunch in Fienna's Cafe next door to Youngs Cycles and then headed back to Croydon from there. A couple of hours riding at a relaxed pace with some testing climbs thrown in and lovely scenery made it a very pleasant if somewhat hilly start to the Wednesday rides.
