Any takers for an easy pace MTB from Coulsdon South this Saturday. 2-3 hrs, loop towards Epsom Downs.

Meet at 9.15 to leave at 9.30

Despite the lack of follow-up posts here, three of us braved a crisp Saturday morning to give the MTBs a spin. After a brief tour of Coulsdon suburbia, Aodan took Taz and me on a very scenic loop taking in Banstead, Epsom Downs and Tadworth. Really good conditions, with mostly dry trails and hardly any other traffic, except for a couple of close encounters with horses near the race track. Finished up with as close as I ever get to a "sprint" on the MTB to avoid a chilly half-hour wait for the next train, and made it safely home refreshed and relatively warm. Thanks to Aodan and Taz for the faultless routefinding and good company.

That's splendid local country side. Wish I coulda - but was preparing snoopington towers for Keira's belated 8th birthday sleepover. They had a good time and I have to say I'd forgotten what fun it is to get woken up by a bunch of giggling kids at midnight....then 1am....then 1.45am....then once more for luck at 4am. Jeez!
