Hi Rachel,
Claire, Sophina should be out - we did my "short J4F" route in November. Garry's wife - Ariadna will be out for the first time too, so there should be a good little J4F group. I will be starting out later (about 10.30am at Coulsdon) as I have a breakfast meeting. I might do the ride in reverse until I meet the J4F group, or I might do my short route and meet everyone at Earlswood.
Regards,
Tim

Should be an old school ride tomorrow - stop, start, wait as necessary - for me that is

Had a few mention they'd be interest though some can't make it tomorrow. Please could Mrs F boot Philf out of bed in time

Nearly didn't come out today because I was thinking of having at least one day at home with the housework :( and saving myself for tomorrow but stupidity prevailed and I launched myself out into that stiff little breeze to CSS. Common sense kept trying to kick in as I struggled through Wallington and at CSS but I went out with a group that turned into a 16s I think as we left the real J4F group behind. Took a longer turn at the front than I intended as poor Pete flagged after leading us out - tried to keep a fairly steady rate of rotation depending on who was at the front...

Tucked in behind a nice steady pair on the way back from Charlwood and took it steady back to Nona's for lunch and an afternoon of recovery - now followed by much needed maintenance of my bike

And of course, a bit of map reading to ensure I go the way I planned to...

B training group was a bit of a mess today due to punctures and splits but regrouped a little before the cafe. Sorry guys if it was a bit crap. I think next week we'll take it a little easier till we hit the lanes so people are warmed up a bit more and we can get more efficient as a group, Peachys suggestion and I agree with him.

Run back was good. Nice riding with Mr Green on his nice new steed then a blast with Steve B and Rob W. Great fun after crossing the M25 then at the M23 junction, felt very strong on the run back putting in some big turns. Matt said we'd have a sprint once we hit the bus lane. I said I'd lead it out but got carried away and just went for a long one and just kept going once I got a gap, a very hard effort but felt good. Looks like the turbo sessions are paying off. Cheers guys.

Did Andrew stay at the front all the way in order to keep it nice and clean? :D

:D I "let them go" when Rob caught us and wound the pace up, just keeping it at a good tempo, my legs wouldn't let me keep up at the mo after a grotty winter (weather and colds). Paul, Matt and AN Other came past and I was surprised to hold them in sight just up the road until I got caught behind a nervous learner. Paul's always very quick but was really impressed with the way Matt shot off after the church regroup, he just motored away and up to Merstham, very powerful.

Rode out with Serge's group, we had to soft tap for a bit as we caught the 19s who were slower in to the wind than us. Well done to Lucy for being daft enough to step up a group on the windiest of CRs and then taking turns, shame your legs fell off at Rusper but you'll easily ride that pace without the headwind on future CRs.

Nice to take the new frame out after building it up and have a good ride on a lighter bike. Dropped down to Bike Plus after to drop in a commuting wheel as the rims worn concave so needs a new one. Due to be dry again tomorrow so will take the hilly bike for the Old Ports. I think there'll be a few of us out, 8am at the RAB before Coney Hall to ride there or see you at Halstead Village Hall shortly after half past.

Pesky wind blew me off my bike on the way to CSS..! "You must go slower!" said my 7 yr old. He's right it was my fault as my 'wind assisted' cornering was a bit rubbish. No matter (I thought at the time) and so proceeded to CSS. Nice to see Serge back!

Went out with TG'A' and did what I could to stay in touch with just one cog at the back working but thankfully the front thingy still in good order. Matt did some big turns out front today with Paul, Dave and Rob strong as usual.

Also notable fitness returning to quite a few riders I saw on the way back. Peachy, Ant, Steve and Tom J all very quick today (a big thanks for the tow gents) Lee S as strong as I have ever seen him... And now I must attend to my wounds!

Out with the B Group today. As Ant puts it:

but not Ant's fault at all. I for one am grateful for Ant taking the B Group out (yet again).

It was a good B Group turn out - biggest this year - and hopefully everyone will be back again next Saturday to share the work around.

Roll on next Saturday.
