On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Despite the clocks going forward and losing a hour's sleep twelve of us managed to remember to adjust our alarms and headed out to Edenbridge - Phil, Peter, Ron, Paul, Iain (over from South Africa), Sam, Nigel, Chris, Darren, Del, Le Nick and yours truly. Lovely day for the end of March - crisp and sunny then really quite warm by noon.

incident packed first half of the ride:

Le Nick nearly had a 'chute' when a stick tangled in his front wheel. He nearly went over the bars and only superb handling skills kept him upright. I was right behind, saw it all, and had to avoid his sudden dead stop! Wow!!

We were confronted by an irrate motorist at the top of Bletchingley - old boy stopped his car and leapt out shouting at us. Le Nick got the blame for this one but he'd done absolutely nothing wrong - the driver was at fault turning into the road just as we were setting off. I thought he he was going to have a stroke - just get the feeling he didn't like cyclist.

And we had to stop for a herd of cows to cross the road (one of which was in leg irons - I kid you not!). What excitement!!! what thrills!!!

Nothing open in Edenbridge so we rode back to Priory Farm for coffee and cake. As it was getting late and we had a leg of lamb roast waiting for us Sam and I bailed out at Redhill and left the rest to get back to Coulsdon.

Really enjoyed the ride - thanks everyone - great morning. I clocked 65 kms at just over 25 kph (or 40 miles @ 15.5 mph) and given the mix of abilities and fitness levels and the lumpy nature of the route was very respectable.

Another Sunday CR next week - be there or be square.

Cheers

Excellent morning out. Glad I managed to drag myself out of bed. Dry roads, sunshine, different scenery.

We had a second testosterone-affected middle-aged overweight man in a sports car just after leaving Priory Farm Jon, but he was behind you. Very tempting to squirt sports drink at the back of his head (convertible) as he squeezed in in front of me.

It was so warm by the time I got home, I changed into shorts before taking Tom out for a 20 miles loop down Pebble Hill to Betchworth, then through Brockham and up the club Box Hill return.

It was a lot warmer than they said it would be! Oh well, apart from the fact I hate getting up for a specific time after the clocks go back, I also had to ride over to my parents and adjust the timer for the hot water and heating

However, as always when I ride over to my parents for lunch, I bumped into a group of Kingston Wheelers heading back into Kingston after their club ride. Must have been one of the faster groups but I jumped on the back and stayed with them until I turned off down Ditton Hill :D Felt quite good even though it was only a short distance and while they weren't slow they weren't going eyeballs out. Also they did have a penchant for catching every red light

Also realised today that, although it's an official Sunday ride next week, it's also Mother's Day and I'd better be a good daughter (after all, we won't be seeing my brothers... ) so can't make next Sunday either :( (but hopefully I'll catch the Kingston Wheelers again :D

PS Another good evening for watching the bats flit around my block of flats again :D

Yep.

Another good Sunday run.

Once again, a good mix of abilities on a very social run.

Thanks for this weeks route, Jon.

Looking forward to next Sunday.
