CLUB RUN LIST - WEEK SAT 18th JUNE + 20 mph

Well, having been enticed into the 20mph I mostly kept off the front and we averaged 19.75. Given the conditions stronger riders did most of the work and due to a mechanical at Reigate the 19s came past us. We caught them at Col de Rusper by which time I was pretty trashed. As our group dithered about going on the dual carriageway the 19s joined us and I pressed on to Lamb's Green, escaping the attention of the group. Looking back they hadn't organised into a chase so I stretched it out a bit further and soon they were out of sight. I had actually eased off when Steve B Joined me and said jump-on and I'll take you to the line. At this point the group had organised behind us but only Steve had made the junction. I just managed to stay in contact with him to the sprint line where he kindly eased off and let me pass for only my second win this year. Return to CS was pretty standard except for a couple of showers and Keith blasting off the front at the Merstham drag. I made the easy choice of not responding and was joined by Mark and we made good progress sharing the effort along the final stretch.
