Leith Hill MTB - changed to Sunday 3rd July

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Leith Hill MTB - changed to Sunday 3rd July

Anyone for a summer blast around the Leith Hill trails on Saturday? The weather forecast is looking perfect - sunny and warm, but not hot.

Meet at bus shelter opposite Peaslake Village Stores (http://www.peaslakevillagestores.com/) at 1020 for a 1030 start. All standards welcome - any MTB will do (but working brakes are important!).

For a taster of what's on offer, see this video of the legendary Barry Knows Best trail (before they rebuilt the ending to make it even better): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6dG3RIMuX8

Colin

PS if anyone else is coming by train, let me know and we can arrange ride over from Gomshall station.

Aodan,

Good plan - with a certain Scotsman now definitely not in the Wimbledon final I'm happy to switch to Sunday. Train timings are a bit different, so would an 1115 start (still from Peaslake) be OK with you?

That time is good for me. Still no car so probably on the same train.

OR How about starting from Dorking, more trains and either straight onto trails or road to Westcott then up to Leith Hill. Mess about on summer Lightning (then maybe across to Peaslake but it would be a long way back).

I'm on for starting from Dorking for a change and . Could go for the Southern train that arrives in Dorking at 1036. Would you be joining the same train at Sutton?

A quick, belated run-down on a very good ride yesterday.

Aodan, Maria and I met on the train, and hatched a plan to start from Boxhill & Westhumble station rather than the splendour of Dorking. Immediately on the climb for a cross-country route to Leith Hill, passing along the way a vineyard, a few sheep and what seemed like half the local population of sixth-formers on their Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

We made the traditional tea & cake stop at the tower, and ran into Will, who I'd last seen on an Addiscombe ride in the same area last summer, I think. Then Aodan took me exploring on some new trails just below the summit, and we squeezed in two runs of a now tree-less Summer Lightning before a pacy run-in to Dorking station.

Great riding on a glorious summer's day - thanks Aodan and Maria.
