You had 7 on your ride,
jnr - we had 8!
Good ride - didn't do the full Hilly 50 route but I think we did quite enough hills as it was
We decided to cut it short (by a little bit...
) and took the road to Peaslake where we rubbed shoulders with locals and mtb'ers for tea and grub before picking up the Hilly 50 route at Hoe Lane to the final few climbs of the day including White Down and Box Hill
All told I did 60 miles and my computer said my average was 13.7. Have to say that I'm definitely getting something back this time as I would've been a lot slower
Just one interesting moment on the way back home
Mini-roundabout and my right of way but there's a car coming up fast from the left which shoots onto the RAB just in front of me - not entirely unexpected but then the driver, a greyhaired older lady, realises she's just cut me up and stops right in front of me so that I have to slam the brakes on to stop going into the rear side door.... It was nice of her to stop - just would've been better at the give way line
Not quite as buttock-clenching as yesterday's close shave (literally) with another old dear in a car - the sort where you could open the passenger door and get in, if they weren't doing 40 mph...
Anyway, I'm knackered and it's one of those days when I wish I had a bath to soak in
Mind you, I wasn't expecting to get a suntan line from my shorts on 2nd October!
