On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Well, that was a one-step back day  Felt queasy most of the way round and everything was a struggle - I knew it would be so I didn't got to Four Elms as I'd originally planned :( Not helped by the fact that Dan seemed to've taken up residence in the loo  and by the time I came out with a couple of others, the tumbleweed was blowing down Charlwood high street, so it was a solo effort back to Nonna's.

Hopefully next week it'll back to two-steps forward :D

Is anyone doing a 16/17s ride tomorrow? I'll be going out whatever but, being directionally-challenged, I don't know many routes.

Oops - should've advertised the Sunday ride a little more carefully. Yes it was a bit longer (I estimated 56 miles back to CSS) with a couple of climbs.

Anyway, a select bunch - (Tony) Martin, me and a brace of Malarkey's. Set off up the newly resurfaced Chipstead Valley/Outwood Lane. It's fantastic - have a ride on there before the first frost destroys it again. Cut through Walton to avoid the fast traffic then down Little Switzerland (did think about Ebbisham Lane but the route was long/hilly enough). A debate at the bottom about cutting out Ranmore but everyone was up for it - especially Martin of the Mountains.

Up Ranmore and Coldharbour Lane there were so many bikes out today. A lot of Kingston Wheelers and a lot of independents. I reckon we saw more bikes than cars today. As the weather warmed up, it was clear that I had severely overdressed.

My plan was to go up Coldharbour lane and along the top, enjoying the views. Fine plan but someone seemed to have decided to have a massive fire somewhere to the South. Never mind.

At the bottom, hit Mole Street. If anyone else rode the Spring Onion, they might remember the road as being absolutely terrible. They seem to have patched it up a bit now. One quick map consult and with Bridget's water trouble over, off up Weare St, Ockley, Capel the looking out for a si(g)n of Trig Street to take us to Newdigate cos Tanhouse was the only open place on the route (I've been working on that sentence all the way back).

A quick(?) bite and back via the normal Box Hill route.

Update: Watch out for suicidal squirrels down Little Switzerland.

Thanks Phil, it was a good ride on a lovely day. Really enjoyed it. Not any longer than expected - I'm just not very fit!

A really nice alternatives ride to Four Elms yesterday.
Does anyone have the Garmin GPS route they're happy to share? I'd really like to do it again sometime.

Thanks
Simon
