Captain's Coastal 30th May

A grand day out indeed. Not sure how many of us there were at The Regency but a very good showing, maybe 80+? Thanks to Ron and Nick for leading the 18's down and to Ron and Alan for the return. 103m on the clock for me and the first century since LEJOG in 2012. Great company from all - thank you. Special and public mention to Jeff H - excellent to see you there and back and thanks for your company and encouragement as we have got back to our riding over the last few months.

Yep, hope all my group (16s) got back safely - particularly Fred (friend of Jeff Hewitt) who after celebrating making it up Ditchling on his 40th attempt, that is without walking, with a glass of red wine and a glass of cider 
decided to give riding back a go. Fred, you were doing fine by the time we got back to Reigate. Have to say I was knackered having not done that length of ride for a long time myself - I'd hoped for an opt out option at Horsham but it was not to be... 
but I'm glad I made it back mostly ok (certain salient points are telling me I've pushed a bit harder and longer than I'm used to 
decided to give riding back a go. Fred, you were doing fine by the time we got back to Reigate. Have to say I was knackered having not done that length of ride for a long time myself - I'd hoped for an opt out option at Horsham but it was not to be... but I'm glad I made it back mostly ok (certain salient points are telling me I've pushed a bit harder and longer than I'm used to -

Using Strava Flyby's, I think Fred and I were just crossing the M25 at Merstham, when Sarah (assuming you were with her) was passing the end of Shepheards Hill (so just out of view), but by the time she had made it back to Nonna Rosas we had only got as far as the traffic lights at Hollymeoak Road.

Thanks for that, Alan! I figured you'd be with him. I was going to wait at top of Merstham drag with ?Franklyn (sorry, me and names) but when he went for a biobreak I carried on... I had hoped to see you if you came through Coulsdon.

Because I live up the back, I come off Farthing Way at the Audi place, skip past the barrier at the back of the Kia place and then go straight across the railway line at the bridge there. So never actually came into Coulsdon itself.
