CR report 25th September

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Right before I get shot down in flames again, let me just comment that all I am suggesting is it would be nice to read post on other routes. This is said with a bit of tongue and cheek due to the ongoing debate of the CR and changes to it etc. Right I'll shut up now and let the JK Rowlings of the club respond...........JOKE!!!

Agreed, it's nice to read reports about different rides from different people. There used to be plenty of reports from a variety of people bridging groups, speeds, types of rides and so on. If they're not put up here then those who do post their reports can't make up something for others.

As Paul said, what did you do? Which ride? Any report so we can read a report on another ride/route? Lead from the front Jojo and get the ball rolling, can't really ask for someone else to do something if you won't do it yourself  .

I'm not, but I'd have to agree with Ant, Paul and Andrew. :|

And it's true it's always more interesting to read if you've actually been on the ride ..

Perhaps you should actually read the posts rather than assume and you wont be disappointed.

Come out with the TG with us next week and well let you do the first post next week.

Would love to join the fast boys, but as Im nearly 50 years old I doubt I would keep up with you lads even up to the 1st roundabout  . 20 years younger and I would be there giving you a run for your money. I am not in a position at the moment to join the club for a cr as Im currently working in Liverpool and only get out on the bike when my shifts allow. Anyway from what I can gather not all the good people who ride on the cr write on the forum and I would say its only a very small minority that post the majority of posts and all I am suggesting is it would be nice to see some other reports from other rides around our beautiful country side. Perhaps I will tone down on my wise cracks as I am the only one who seems to understand my humour

We can all take a joke here (I think) but im sure you dont mind some comeback.

Couldnt help but look at your previous posts and they indicate you are part of the "alternative ride missionary cult" some of whom want to get their own way by using slants/BS which seems a bit strange considering you do not appear to be an active member. Youre not a fAct believer as well are you?

Unfortunately im not far of 50 as well and there are other 40+ riders in the TG and its usualy the youngsters that get the run for the money.

Apologies if you think I have insulted you, but if you are an expert on forum etiquette then perhaps you yourself have forgot that a forum is a place where one can post whatever opinion one has and I have merely posted my opinion.:
Wow it's all getting a bit exciting, huh :D I think Jojo you've done the equivalent of joining a new cult group without having understood the unwritten rules. Cycling club forums, just like football club forums or even behavioural psychology forums have various conventions which may remain completely oblivious until challenged. On one of the many Arsenal Club forums I frequent you can critize certain players but if you you're too harsh and you're a newbie you may get absolutely slaughtered for such frank opinions - despite the fact that others may feel the same way you do. On one particular behavioural psychology forum if you're the first to reject someone's hypothesis nobody on the forum will acknowledge your response unless one of the forum regulars has given you the greenlight

Ok so at ACC we quite like lots of reports about the same club run - I like to know that Anthony has worked his way back up to the training group; is Amy's still a borderline 18 club member?; whose winning the Jon and son battles, who almost took the Charlwood sprint, what newbies has smiley Jon recruited, will Keith's be the most succinct post this week. It's all beautifully predictable a bit like the club run itself. :D And yes like a lot of other clubs we're a bit sniffy if newbies or perceived outsiders start throwing friendly jabs. As someone once posted to me - 'this ain't that kinda forum mate'. Personally I love the banter, so keep posting  :D

Nothing to do with not accepting criticism or welcoming Toks, personally I think it's a fairly friendly forum. I think with most it's a case of not being that keen on having their ride posts pissed on (whether a joke or not) by someone who has appeared to have definite views on the club's rides and what people should say about their ride without ever seeming to post a report on their rides, or organise a ride for others to enjoy.

I like to ride different routes as do Amy and Pete, so we post up some details of what people can expect of the ride and go on it. There'd be much more variety if everyone who said they wanted something different did it rather than expect someone else to do it for them. You just look at a map and plot something and try it out, it's not rocket science, and then you get to know the different roads and lanes and how they link up. Bingo plenty of different route options.

It's a cycling club not the mafia, just let a VC know what you're doing at CSS and they can shout out your ride, if you put it on the forum beforehand then some people will know about it in advance and be waiting for you at the station.
