Royal Wedding Avoidance - Road Version

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Congrats to all,
Del, that was abrilliant write up- it had me chuckling- probably one of the best CR "write ups" for ages- rivalling George's -best CR ever.
I would have loved to go along as well, but I had an invite..........to shovel up after the parade.

Great write up Del. Wish I had come along just to see what title would have been bestowed on me. Did the naming ceremony involving kneeling down and being touched on each shoulder by a bicycle pump before an inner tube was hung aroung the neck ?

Yep great write up Del, and I love my new title [quote]Lady Lucyap of Kidds Hill

Third time up The Wall for me, and as climbs go I like it! Certainly not as bad as its reputation, and the view at the top is worth a bit of sweating and swearing.

Brilliant write up Del.

Great day out 75 miles door to door with a few metres of climbing here and there which is good for me as its one place I'm lacking in my cycling. After doing a far bit of towing I finally bid farewell to the last of my comrades about 10 miles out of Croydon and powered home the last 16 miles feeling good.

Brill day and brill company and brill route...simply brill. Cheers guys.

[quote="jon avery"] I made the choice of going via Oxted ( Amy knows I'm not to clever at route finding ) and went via Tipsy hill

Just looked at the map and next time you could drop down into Godstone follow the A25 towards Oxted but then just before the RAB with the A22 turn left up the bottom half of Gangers :D and then just where it turns really steep take the turning into Marden Park then either climb up to Caterham (not my idea of fun either) or just burn it down the A22 into Purley (which is what I did last week as I needed to get back after the club run for cake baking...)

Must admit I was looking to avoid too many of the steeper hills on my way back from Bletchingley  Still got a little way to go before I'm back at full strength but I think, really think, that this time, I might be getting there....

Anybody thinking of a road ride on Monday?

THis is all a bit one-sided so in the interest of balance

I know I know, it looks like it could be fun doing a nice rear-wheel skid on that dress ..

Sylv,

I'm sure those guys were in the pub at Penshurst.

They had some beers lined up with some pork scratchings.

Who are they?? :? :?

I think the one on the far left has just seen the gold chain and cassette.

Goldie looking cassette no more!
I'd say I've done under 150 miles on it and it's shredded! 3 teeth completely gone and 5-6 well worn:

Do not buy a Recon cassette.... unless you'd like a second hand gold one in usable condition from 20 -26

Just discovered why my rear wheel felt all wobbly  The wall of the tyre has been worn almost through by those temporary mudguards rubbing on it (the furry bit on one side is missing and the plastic almost worn through too...) Oh great....

And can anyone remember how to shift those ties they use (supposedly reusable)?
