CR Thread

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

I was late to the club run, waited a few minutes before just me and Bridget headed out for shortened club run. Could barely feel my hands at one point but better for my health than sitting on the sofa, just.

I dropped off again this morning so sadly missed the club run :( . Set out for a solo ride a bit later hoping the edge might have been taken off the weather. Not so, a bitter strong wind and light snow, so did 20 miles hard to keep warm.

PLEASE NOTE: We still need 8 or 9 helpers for the Addiscombe CC 25 on 28th April. This is a special Centenary event with bonus prizes. There are Addiscombe riders racing to cheer on as well as some of the fastest riders in the area which our event usually attracts. Our promotion is very highly thought of, please help us continue this and enable us to run a successful event. There is a lot to arrange in the last couple of weeks so I would really appreciate it if you could help us get the marshalling arranged in advance.

Please see sticky thread in General section for details.

It’s been a while... out with the TG today with only Keith and me, on the way we picked up Jason. A good steady ride, thanks for the company.

After we did the little hill that leads to the dual carriage way, we decided to then turn back to the cafe. On the way back there was the 20’s group, so I thought why not join them and guess what?...All the ACC racer gang were there!?...where were you when the TG was called?? I know a couple of you are planning to race this season.

Had to rush home - solo ride back via Redhill, hope to see more of you on the TG :)

Nice to be back on a club run, keeping a reasonable but not too hot pace in view of yesterday's 24 hour trip back from Colombia. Thanks for the greetings.

Enjoyable ride today. Went with a 19/20s group to test my pace and mainly felt OK. Regrettably Steve fell early on doing some unknown damage to a previously dodgy shoulder but he recovered enough to continue. Young Matt won the sprint - wasn't he in the 15s 6 months ago? Averaged 20.2. Returned via BH - a lively group particularly in the latter stages - stayed with and manage a PB on the zig Zag. Sunny morning but chilly - great Apple pie at DR's

Good ride for me - ended up with the 'faster' 17s and managed to keep up with them most of the way down to Charlwood, even on the hills :D Anyone get an average speed? I must get new speedometers for all my bikes as they've all died completely at the same time  Apologies for losing Robin (male) - I thought he might have turned at Partridge - good job he knows the roads, catching us up after Rusper by taking the shortcut (very useful that shortcut - I've used it once in the past after being dropped).

A nice steady ride back with Alex P which made me feel even better... After lunch at NR where I watched Alan eat his apple pie (Alan, where's DR?) I climbed back up over to Wallington and that initial drag up from the Brighton Road to the Wallington road didn't feel too bad, the first time in awhile  And I really must admit that guys not on bikes keep saying 'hello, Amy' up that bit of road and I haven't a clue who they are

I enjoyed the ride as well and didn't get dropped :D I use Mapmyride on my phone (must get a computer soon) and this registered the ride at 24.3 miles with an average speed of 17.8 mph.

After a point, with multiple bikes, it's easier just to get a GPS one. I got a Garmin 500 for Tom and they're about £150 now. And then you can play Strava ...

(They come with two mounts but I have a spare if you need it)

Thanks, Phil. I'm not after anything fancy - think I'll still have some change left from £150 :D Urp, wots strava

Thanks, Jessica. Definitely not a bad ride. 18s for you soon :D And thanks, Andrew, fingers crossed that this the year I manage to find my form again, buried as it has been for years now

Too much going on has resulted in very few club runs for me this year. It was a joy to get out this morning and see so many people again.

Set off with the 20s and had a good ride to Newdigate, where I turned off to Box Hill to loop back for home as I needed to be back. A thoroughly enjoyable 50 miles :D .
