Tuesday Chain Gang

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Good fun last night, Andy W, Peachey, Steve B and me. Not ridden that hard for a few weeks, suffered on way back but had a giggle and kept putting in some insane attacks to make the others work harder and chase me :) did me in though

Oh and sorry Rogan.

ps. Well done Amy for turning up and doing your own thing, your deffo getting stronger so keep it up. Next time take Rogan with you though go easy on him and don't drop him.

Excellent ride last night - decent pace going out with us all sharing turns equally, although Ant's energy gel did seem to be working quite well early on, and he was managing some decent digs on the front which drove it along quite nicely.

Lost Rogan later on after the Steve singled him out  and made it particularly hard following him through Salford - sorry Rogan, we did wait but you must have turned back?

Coming home was good fun with Andy and Steve putting in some big turns and making us all suffer - Ant decided to turn it into a tactical affair with several jumps off the front with the three of us chasing him - caught him each time - however stealth like tactics prevailed and he managed to get back to CSS first...!

Where were all the 'B' chain gangers? Well done for Amy for going out by herself in quite windy conditions - I am sure this will really start to improve fitness.

Palace marshalling/racing for a lot of us next week - and I think the club TT start as well......

Ha. I lasted less than 5 seconds but thanks, Ant and Peachey, for the encouragement. Thought I'd be on me tod so I planned to ride up to the Chipstead High Road via Hooley. Star Lane didn't seem so bad and then it was the gentle downhill to Elmer Pond where I turned left down Castle Road and enjoyed swinging round the bends without worrying about anything coming up (vehicular anyway) to the Chipstead Valley Road then up to Woodmansterne and the long downhill to Carshalton and home.

AND I WAS FREEZING!!! I was wearing two long sleeved layers and longs but when I got home I put all the heating on and sat in front of the halogen heater till I was warm enough to get in the shower.

Someone was wearing shorts and skinny arm warmers... thought I saw some ball bearings on the road

Perhaps the plodders need a 'ride' rather than a chaingang. Say do a loop round Box Hill as it gets lighter in the evenings? I'll post it sometime today. Might encourage others to come out and ride rather than scare them off with words like chaingang and training
