REGULAR SUNDAY CLUB RUNS START FEB 2011

Hi All Agreeables and friends

In the recent club survey several members asked that we put on a regular Sunday Club Run and I know a few of you have already spoken to me about the possibility. Therefore we are proposing to start this (reinstate this?) from the beginning of February. Initially we intend to put on two Sundays CRs a month on the first and third weekends. Hopefully, if the interest is there this could become a weekly event.

If we get the numbers we hope to put on several different speed groups but again initially we will put on a 16/17 mph group and perhaps a 15 mph depending on the VCs we have available. Clearly, if we have faster people turning up I'm sure we could accommodate them with a faster ride. Details will be posted on the forum Club Run List. We should meet for a 9.30 start from Coulsdon South. We would not normally take the usual CR route (we're planning something a bit different) but there will be a cafe stop and we are aiming to get back to Coulsdon South at the usual time: 12.30 - 1.00.

If this is going to be a success it is vitally important that all the people that expressed a desire for a Sunday CR now support it and us by turning up and riding on a Sunday.

sounds brilliant - and though I can't wait....I'll have to. Not around on the 6th but will be coming out on these to help them become part of the club. Delighted that the route will be different and varied too. A regular Sunday ride has been talked about a lot. Time for action. Nice work

Time for an update on this.

Amy and I have volunteered to lead the first Sunday CR.

I'd held back from posting before as I've been out of action for the last month and wasn't sure I'd make it back for February 6, but things are looking ok, although lack of recent riding means I may be sheltering in the group and asking Amy to do all the work up front!

Amy has a route in mind that will take us from CSS to Cobham and back and she has agreed to post outline details of the route later this week. Departure time from CSS is 9:30.

It will be good to see as many people as possible out as we aim to establish Sunday CRs. The next one will be 2 weeks later on Sunday 20th, with a possible loop out around Lingfield being discussed as an option.

Hope to see as many as possible out on Sunday. Feel free to post if you're likely to attend as it will give us some idea of numbers.

Don't forget - I'm taking a CR ride down to Lingfield and back this Sunday (20th Feb). Back to CSS by 12.30-1.00. 16/17 mph and regroup after climbs. See you at CSS @ 9.30.
