mtb ride ???

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Hi Taz,

I was going to do the same thing. How about meeting on Saturday morning, Coulsdon South Station at 0915 for an 0930 depart? I'm happy to lead my trusty Farthing Downs, Happy Valley, Reigate Hill, Banstead Heath etc etc loop (easy pace for 2 to 2.5 hours ending back at CSS), but if anyone comes along with anything more adventurous in mind that's good for me too.

I have just looked at the weather forecast and Saturdy looks a bit iffy with Sunday much better. Any chances of doing Sunday instead ? We could start in Croydon.

Either way, I'll turn up for either Sat or Sun.

I saw tomorrow's forecast too ("light rain" is not great, though could be worse), but unfortunately that is the only weekend morning in the whole of February I can get out :( so I'll be there tomorrow for sure. Or would you prefer East Croydon? It's easier for Taz and me to get to ECBR, I just suggested CSS as I'm more confident of the off-road route from there.

I suggest going with Plan A. I'll be at Coulsdon South Station tomorrow morning at 0915 for an 0930 depart. Aodan too, as far as I know. All others welcome to join.

Sorry, I've been busy today so just seeing this now. I agree, it's a bit too late to change now so let's keep to Plan A, CSS at 0915 for 0930 depart.

Aodan.

Despite having the heard rain falling through the night and knowing it would be a muddy one, I got myself down to CSS, saw the road groups get away, and was joined by Aodan on his cross bike. Aodan devised a nice route on the hoof to bring us back into East Croydon just over 2 hours later (I didn't recognise all of it, but we definitely headed out via Farthing Downs, and came into Croydon via Woldingham and New Addington). Some real muddy slogs along the way, but also some very pleasant descents where the water had drained away better, and actually hardly any rain fell while we were out. All in all, a good start to the weekend, and I'll look forward to next time.

EDIT - just saw Aodan wrote this up on the club run thread including a better recollection of the route
