Weds ride if its dry

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Hi Marco, I'm a newbie who's done a few Sat ride but wondered if I can join you tomorrow for the Wed ride?

If ok, I can pick up the group at the White bear as I live out that way.

What time do you think you'll pass by?

Cheers
Tony

White Bear update: group usually gets there nearer 10.45am. I might even make it into ECB and out again; keeping a weather eye open, though!

Nothing wrong with me apart from being a whimp - kit's laid out, bike's oiled up, I'm ready to go but it's still raining in Redhill - skies are dark - sorry folks but I'm going back to bed.  :D 8)

I'm sitting here at my computer, all dressed in golden yellow, having changed plans from an East Croydon Stn meet-up to the White Bear an hour later ... Sorry folks, but I think a good book is a deal more alluring today! Actually, we've been remarkably lucky with our Wednesday rides weather this year; if it's been around, the rain has generally come mid-afternoon.

It was sunny when I left Bromley, as soon as I crossed into Surrey, the sky fell down.
4 of us met up at ECBR.
3 of us made it out of Croydon (Paul(?) decided wallpapering in the dry was a better option than riding in the rain).
We met Tony at the White Bear at about 10:45.
I had had to stop for a breather half way up the hill (bronchial tubes feeling restricted), so turned off leaving the A-Ps in charge of Tony.
As I hit Layhams Lane (my psychological boundary between Kent and Surrey), the rain stopped and the sun came out.
It stayed dry until I got home.

I hate Surrey. It is frequently raining, the roads are terrible and there's far too many idiots in 4x4s.

Other couples might have gone shopping at Blue Water on a day like today, but not us!

After swapping Grahame for Tony at the White Bear, we headed down to Downe. Yes it was wet, and I got rather cold, and legs felt like they'd turned to stone . The view from the top of Beddlestead was amazing, swirling mists and black rain clouds over Caterham. We quickly peddled the other way! Ended up going a slightly different way to the cafe, Tony knew the roads well and took us down a very steep hill

As usual we had a very warm greeting from the lovely ladies at the cafe, and soon warmed up . . . and left slightly muddy puddles.
Nice route home, thanks again to Tony, back along The Pilgrim's Way.

Back home with 40miles on the clock, heading for a very hot shower once my feet warm up (chilblains  ).

Hi all, good ride to day ( oh how it reminded me of Scotland - cold, wet and miserable!) , but the company was great and the coffee and cakes were a welcome treat half way round.

Apologies for commandeering the route after the cafe and selecting a few choice climbs on the way home. Sorry Lucy!!

Hopefully get to meet the rest of the famous Wednesday group next week in drier conditions.
