Urgent! advice needed!

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Urgent! advice needed!

As i finished 4th for the second time at hillingdon last tuesday, i have gained enough points to become a 3rd cat. However, the official results are not yet on the BC website. This means my license and my membership page of BC say im a 4th cat.

The problem is, i am going down to goodwood on sunday for the surrey league 5day support races. I would like to ride in the 3rd cat race at 12.30, but there is also a race at 9.30 for 4th cats. So which should i ride?

I would be happy in either, but feel i should make the step up and ride the 3rd cat race! So if anyone has any ideas, please let me know asap! I wont be out on the club run tommorow, so please post on here.

Thanks....

Adam

Don't worry you will be fine. Just explain to the person when you are signing on that you have the requisite points, maybe print something out if you are really worried, results are normally on londoncyclesport.com or on the BCF website.

But other people in your situation have just gone along, explained the situation and raced with the 3rd cats. It is less of an issue at Goodwood anyway as it is a closed circuit, I think that they may be more worried to check on a open road circuit as the surrey league have stopped 4th cats racing on the open roads since last year.

Well done on making it to third cat and make sure you are in at least 4th or 5th position when you get to the chicane before the finish so that you can start your sprint in time to win.

Also, be aware that although Goodwood is flat breaks do get away and often stay away so make sure you don't let the break get too far away before launching yourself off the front to catch it, or make sure you are in the break from the off.

Cheers
