Tuesday Nights @ Hillingdon

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Tuesday Nights @ Hillingdon

Postby Toks » Tue Apr 15, 2008 2:39 pm

Just a reminder that there's 4th and E123 racing every Tuesday night at Hillingdon now. I'll be up there tonight then I'll switch to Palace on Tuesday's starting next week. Then back to Hillingdon for old geezer racing on alternative Wednesday evenings

Better stop dreaming of the quiet life
'Cos it's the one we'll never know
And quit running for that runaway bus
'Cos those rosy days are few
And stop apologising for the things you've never done
'Cos time is short and life is cruel
But it's up to us to change
This town called malice

Nice one Toks - you were very strong on Saturday , so not surprised you were comfortable on Tues !

Hows your sprint , are are you going to have to rely on getting away in a break ?

Just like Chris Boardman, if what I heard is true, I'd struggle to get over a 1000watts so my options are thus:

1. Drag lazy sprinter types into deep threshold water so that their kick is somewhat diminished at the end of the race (my FT ain't high enough so unlikely :( )

2. Get in a significant break away (best chance really :D :D )

3. Solo away from the pack and hope they forget about me for a while (As a skinny black guy in a yellow top, most unlikely  )

4. Get away in a group or solo, whilst team mates generously block for me at the front of the pack, (good chance :D :D and yes favour will be returned)

I've just been told I've got the weekend off so may see you at Alford on Sunday :D

Can't do this week Ajay - I'm lecturing until 5pm then struggling to get to the Palace for 6pm to marshal.

Next week is a distinct possibility, though. More news to follow.
