** Beastway team race 30th July

So Stu, Mike and George are you still up for it,

I reckon if Stu can keep his lunch in, Mike the air in his tires, George remain on his bike, and me avoid anyone crashing into me from behind, we have a chance to do well

Not sure how the category will work as we'll have three masters and a junior (in his first race ) but it'll be fun.

Starts at 7.30 with four staggered start, race time should be a bit shorter, probably 45 minutes for the first off, and course similar to last week's although probably shorter.

Anyone else?

I'll be there to build the course, I will have a geared bike with me, so I will be available as 4th ranked team member if required.

Stu and George can't make it unfortunately. Are you doing Palace Mike? I will - we can always go to Beastway for fun, and be part of a composite team.

I'm afraid I won't be racing at either Palace or Beastway this week. The unexplained aching in my upper arm, which becomes virtually intolerable when I cycle (it's the leaning forward that seems to exacerbate it), shows no signs of abating. Even the codeine tablets do little more than take the edge off the pain, and I certainly can't see myself being fit to race any time soon. After the pills run out I'll be left with heat pads and/or ice packs to try to alleviate the discomfort and if I'm showing no signs of improvement after another week I suppose I'll get referred to a physio, which could take months. It's frustrating, to say the least.
