Sutton Centre Race

Postby Antloony » Mon Aug 11, 2008 5:32 pm

I was up in Sutton yesterday In the high street and I noticed that a few bollards had been removed and that some loading bay markings painted on the paved areas had been painted over in grey paint. Does this mean a race is planned for this year, Ive searched but can't find any info. Anyone shed any light on this?

no such luck

[quote]A major regeneration of Sutton Town Centre will be launched on Monday, injecting new life into the borough’s premier shopping destination.

Sutton Council is working with the Town Centre Partnership to revitalise the High Street and surrounding area and attract more visitors and businesses.

The aim is to create a continental-style boulevard complete with a café culture. Reducing crime and fear of crime will be central to the redesign of the main thoroughfare.

Ah cheers Dan, that explains it then. Just thought for one moment something exciting was going to happen only to find out Suttons trying to go all continental so we can sit outside in the pouring rain and drink our latte's and stuff our faces with soggy croissants while trying to look sophisticated.
