Bec CC Hill Climb

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

MR GURU Paul T MRPVT:

Where did you see the mention of an mtb prize? Can't see it anywhere, but I don't have the flier from the email at home.

Please do let me know, as I was intending to convert a frame I have into a fixed-gear climbing machine tomorrow, and test it on White Lane!

Thanks

Well Paul you were wrong  (confirmed from the organiser).

Is there anyone who has entered the Catford Climb (which does have a mtb prize) and who would want to swap with my entry to the Bec?

I was really looking forward to racing a fixed mtb up a climb

Only a slight slip up, sorry Sylv. Thought you'd be doing both of them anyway

Good luck guys. Jon good luck in keeping in front of David McGaw. If he's who I think I suspect he'll being challenging some of the better known 'names' for the win.

Fantastic! Can't believe how many Addiscombe are in the Catford and Bec hill climbs. Really gutted I'm going to miss them this year.

Anybody who isn't otherwise engaged make sure you get there to shout on your support, they make great spectating events too.

There's one ACC name missing whom I thought was planning to enter.....

Stu - did you fall foul of the postal strike or chicken out? I'm sure you'd have done pretty well...... The chance of ACC winning the team prize has dropped from extremely unlikely to lottery odds!

Yeah I didn't want to say anything about your previous encouragements, but we'd've needed four Tonys to stand a chance!

Crivvens! Went over to the hill today to see it for the first time. Boy it hurts. Had three goes and damn near killed meself. Still - it was important for me to know I could get from one end to t'other. Bring it on

Snoop

PS - can anyone recommend where to park yer motor tomorrow

Snoop - everyone parks on the verges on the B-road at the top of the hill or along the road that is almost opposite. Given the size of the field, I expect there will be a lot of cars parked there.

I'm pretty nervous too - you need some real grunt to get up the steep bits quickly. However, the crowd will give you a massive lift on the day....
