So who's planning on time-trialling in ACC colours in 2008 ?

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

I think RichV and Tamar are a fair bet too.

No Tony they're not. Sporting ones (quite a few early season) which would suit you down to the ground are often 9am - or maybe 8am. The Holmwood course ACC use is obviously viewed as safe and fairly traffic free as the 10s on that all seem to be 2pm starts. I think anything 25 and over are all early starts to get everyone out the way as early as possible. Even if they didn't have safety concerns then it would be too much of an advantage for late starters as they'd have more vehicles to get sucked along by.

Oh f*ck it, I may as well have a go.

At the very least do one right at the start of the season and one right at the end to see how I have improved.

Did that with Redhill's 9 miler in May and then August this year. Dropped 1 minute 20. Sweet! 8)

Carl, sporting TTs are mainly based on circuits in country lanes. Rougher road surfaces but nicer surroundings. Standard TT 1 minute intervals etc, etc.

Looking at the magic book, based on this year:
Late Feb - 19.4 miles (Redhill CC) 9am - Holmwood

Early March - 23 miles (Sussex CA) 8.30am - Handcross

Mid March - 15.8 miles (East Sussex CA) 10am - Bodle St. Green
21 miles (SCCU - Rawson Shield points) 9am - Bletchingly

Late March - SCCU weekend - Rawson Shield points again.
10 miles on Saturday, 25 miles on Sunday - Oakwood Hill and Loxwood

Early April - 41 miles (Crwley Wheelers) 7.30am - Handcross
10 miles (Brighton Mitre) 3pm - Kirdford

Mid April - 21miles (Tooting BC) 7.30am - Bletchingly
25miles (Redmon CC) 7.15am - Broadbridge Heath

Late April - 14.5miles (Horsham Cycling) 2pm - Faygate

Should keep you going :) .

Standard CTT form sent in with the fee (about £6) 2 weeks in advance. If you need pointers on the CTT form post on the forum and there'll be help at hand. I plan on doing most of the early sporting TTs myself.

If there are a few new to TT people then we may be able to persuade Jon to do his TT talk at the clubroom.

Are most of the starts within riding distance or do you need to drive?

Guru Paul would probably ride - all normal humans would drive methinks

I like the idea of a TT talk - I'm always keen to learn - bit slow on the uptake me
