Hillingdon Winter Series

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Hillingdon Winter Series

Postby KeithK » Sat Feb 09, 2008 12:22 am

I had an over handlebar type dismount from my KTM motorcycle last Friday and haven't ridden the cycle since. No broken bones, but loads of strains and bruises. One ankle is giving me grief consequently 'grief' is the new nickname at work.

Missed last week, will miss tomorrow and probably the final as well. I should be miserable but I've so enjoyed the racing again and I know I'll be racing again soon.

Good Luck to any of you guys racing and if so, like everyone else, I look forward to reading the reports.

See you
KeithK

Ouch Keith sorry to hear that was looking forward to race with you today.

I'll do my best to try and remember the big blur that will be the race afterwards to write about it.

Bad luck KK - never trust a dutch motorcycle :D - I understand Stu had a crash today too on the Club Run so that's two of our top men down - go easy out there guys we don't want our premier league racers out before the season's even started

no result from me, had a good race but was over cautious on the last few laps and too far from the front to avoid allowing the rest of the humongous bunch to box me in on the final back straight, very frustrating sprint which included riding on the grass to overtake ... good training though and over 150km on the clock including 58 of racing. beautiful summer weather which allowed shorts ,short sleeve jersey and short gloves.I was paying more attention to the attacks of Paul Pickup, no I didn't follow any one straight in his wheel but if 4-5 others chased i tried going with them a few times. I think in the end despite the attacks it all came to a big bunch sprint.

You should stick to racing Stu - seems to be safer/easier than the training group

Just read the report from the final race - is Phil S ok? (crashed heavily, it says he looked annoyed so probably ok!)

Yeah he's ok I did some laps around Regnts Park with him on sunday morning and he was putting in a few digs. His hip is still sore though!

Hey fellas,
I'm ok thanks. Big abrasion on the hip/upper thigh, a deep gouge below the knee, rash on the forearm and grazed knuckles.... but the bike is fine, which is the main thing
Some fat bloke from Maldon cc suddenly switched his line and knocked the guy next to me whose handlebars hooked mine up in the air, thus putting him back on two wheels and sending me flying :?
Like Arnie I'll be back
