Bank holiday ride 31st May

I can't make the club run on the 29th due to family stuff. Does anyone fancy a longish ride on the Monday (or even the Sunday)? I've got the Dragon Ride the week after so I'd quite like to make it a good distance (100+ miles). I can work out a route or if anyone has any suggestions ...

How about the Mayflyer or SpringOnion (long route). Maybe not 100 miles but hard riding all the same

Could have lunch at Wisborough Green on the first and at Amberley on the second

That looks nice Amy. Might see if I can tweak it to make it a bit longer. Wasn't planning to rush.

Oh, and I should mention that my son's cub camp is on that week so it will rain.

How about starting at CSS (if that's convenient) then taking Chipstead Valley road, Walton, then Headley and down through little Switzerland, across the A24 up Ranmore, down Whitedown then a jog along the A25 and pick up the Flyer route at Shere. I haven't really thought through getting back, but it should be plenty of miles.

It can be made shorter and less flat by, for instance, at Forest Green heading up to Coldharbour instead of East to Newdigate.

Hi Phil, do you mind if Stephanie and I tag along. Steph is more a 15mph rider so we'll stay with you guys for as long as we can and then let you ride away once "we" start struggling to keep up. I need to book a B&B for the Dragon pretty sharpish too

The more the merrier. I'm not in a hurry - just want to get into the vibe of riding quite a long way without setting off stupidly fast and knackering myself.

I booked a hotel a long while back (Best Western in Heronston) - which is amazingly organised for me.

Phil, I might tag along too. Don't worry about making it less flat... The Dragon Ride is easy in comparison, honest.

By the time you come back up Coombe Bottom you'll be glad you didn't add in any extra hills.

Nice route. I'd do that again. I was pleased with dropping that car on the descent of Coldharbour lane - or maybe terrified is a better word.
