MBR readers wanted

We're looking for occasional readers of our Mountain Bike Rider magazine to take part in an evening research session on Wednesday 2 June

Are you free on the evening of Wednesday 2nd June ?
Do you read MBR and / or any other Mountain bike magazines (either every issue or quite regularly) ?
Can you can spare an hour of your time to visit us at our head office which is located near London Bridge?

If you can answer yes to these three questions, then we would really like to hear from you - and it might just be worth your while. !!

Sorry, I've not read MBR since about 2000 when they were claiming that 27speed drivetrains and 4 inches of travel at each end were the absolute minimum necessary for crosscountry racing. This was the month that my team from Harrogate, riding Singlespeeds beat the MBR team by over a lap at the (then) Red Bull Mountain Mayhem. There wasn't a singlespeed category that year, so we had settled for 32nd in Sport.

Which do you want, occasional readers or regular? Does flicking through it in the newsagents count?

I have to say I started losing interest when it got too elitist: "We test budget full-bouncers for under £1,500" and treating £300-£500 bikes as an embarrassing joke. I do however work near LB also so shall drop her an email.

I said I'd got it a couple of times, and that I was roadie who did a bit of MTBing for fun and I seemed to fit the bill.

I don't know what it used to be like, what they said, or what it's like now really. I get singletrack because the articles are good, it's a good read, and the production/layout quality is of a high standard.

Nearly every other cycling mag of most descriptions is pretty crap these days as they repeat the same thing every week. They all tend to jump in to the Emperor's new clothes whatever the "thing" of the moment is (gadget/technique/diet etc) and must read to many pamphlets full of bullsh** from manufacturers as so much of what's written is rubbish using the same invented terminology the manufacturer uses to big up their new toy.

I found it quite an enjoyable evening.
Went on a bit longer than I thought and I didn't receive a copy of the magazine in advance which made the current issue difficult to comment on.

I think that some of the questions could have been asked in advance to save a bit of time on the evening. Things like riding habits etc.

I was suprised that a lot of the group don't ride their bikes from one month to the next!

I didn't realise there were so many ACC at this. I went to the 8pm session so probably met some of you ! Quite interesting evening, very impressive view from the office, especially at sunset.

Not sure what happened about sending out the magazine, it looked like some people did get them beforehand, I didn't even get an address for the office, I looked it up on the internet.
