First off, make sure the chain is clean from any grease and old oil, tend to use degreaser applied with an old paint brush (tip picked up from watching the mechanics @ Selsdon Park Hotel when the Tour was here) Then dry with a
clean rag. Put the chain in the big ring, shake bottle and then apply a drop to each link, wipe off any excess as you go. You can then allow the wax to dry before giving the chain a wipe. Don't mix with oil based lubricants.

Squirt also do a good wax based lub

If you're using oil based lubs I used to clean the chain, flush out any residue by spraying with GT85, dry, and then applying oil to each link. Found the Finish Line Pro Road the smoothest, but it left the chain
all black after the first ride!! Didn't look very professional
