cycle to work scheme

Is there anything from preventing me using a cycle 2 work voucher to purchase bike parts instead of a complete bike ?

If anyone has tried this let me know.

I spoke to the chaps in a certain bicycle retail outlet fairly close by about this as my misses employer (the government no less) now does the C2W scheme and they said I could buy anything I liked, they'd just stick a bike down on the paperwork to make it look above board...allegedly....though I might be making that bit up.... :D

probably not ideal to publicise that really, since technically it's rather naughty for them to do that.

[quote="marco"]I edited the quotes out for you

Probably too late. With our new chancellor looking to axe several thousand public servants, I imagine any self-respecting HMRC inspector looking to keep his job, get a promo and a fatter pension has already thought about checking these schemes in microscopic detail. Just needs to find a few anomalous abuses in a couple of LBS and then suggest the whole C2W be shut down. Shouldn't cost many Tory votes.
