New Years Day

Postby Ian A4size » Sat Dec 31, 2005 7:16 pm

Happy noo year to all ACC.
There will be a ride out 2mo, time and place to be agreed, i shall post it here sometime later on, it wont be early! My guess is around 10.30/11 ish, i need a recovery ride after todays little jaunt around the surrey hills- a nice 2 hour kip when i got in- my legs were a bit tired  .
Are any other ACC ers doing any of the cyclosportives this year?

I think that I'll be out Ian -

I missed you all today as had a pucture at home and was late - hacked along towards Charlwood at a fast rate to try and catch up - Dropped Robbie (also late), who then took a shortcut beating me to the cafe where about about 6 of us, remnants of the club run, congregated happily - I had given up the chase by Newdigate realising that there was a Munnery magic mytery tour on the go.

We had a longish break and a nice ride back with company of about 5 others. Ajay was there as well. When he saw you setting off up the hill he stayed on the train to Merstham and went off from there. (I always try to give him a mention because I know his wife is an avid reader of the forum).

I would like to do the Cyclo sportifs this year but would prefer it to be with a good number of ACCers so it might be useful to post 3 or 4 as most likely to attract interest.

Cheers and HNY everybody

I missed the CR today and am interested in a New Year's day ride. Could you give me a rough clue of distance and speed so I know if I'll be able to last / keep up!
Thanks.

Andrew.

We aim to leave the feathers at around 10-30, it will not be a fast ride as the ladies will be with us 8) . Plus i am tired and still not in bed yet at 1 o'clock.
Monty has said he would like to ride as well- and i dont think he has ridden for a couple of weeks either, expect a 2-2 1/2 hour ride and bring a nana coz i doubt there are any cafe stops open. if its lashing down forget it! :?

Punctured 1 mile from home so didn't make it. Turned around, grabbed another tube and headed out through Westerham and back via Pilgrims Way and Polhill. Not a bad ride, but roll on warmer weather.
Happy New Year ACCers.

Warmish then. 80 in winter, what's summer like! - your tyres'll melt in to the road.

Good ride today.

Although I really felt that last hill on my fixed wheel bike.

It had me beaten and had to retreat to the train in merstham.

Just about recovered now.

Gav

What a shame, in the long run your legs will be thanking you in '06 .. just don't bring the fixed to Mallorca :P

Just a note to thank Mr Munnery for all his routes over the last week or so and for todays, flat route :? Just stick in one last hill, but don't tell the girls!!

Just enough time to recover and summon up the energy to get to Eastbourne and back with Peter et al ...

Holidays over and back to work we go, until Saturday

:D
