Whilst riding my bike to work this morning, once out of the saddle i noticed a strange noise coming from the back of the bike. It sounded like Windy millers windmill. This only happens when i get out of the saddle.
Any ideas and is it going to be expensive.

Almost certainly something to do with your crank/bottom bracket interface as it only happens when out of the saddle. ie when putting extra weight on the cranks. Could be something as simple as removing cleaning and tightening the BB but I'd get it checked at GBs just in case.
And what are doing out of saddle in january anyway? Secret interval training already?

Thanks Hew. Got it booked in for tomorrow at GBs, not really what i wanted after xmas but thats the way the cookie crumbles!
