This may be a bit crazy but what about a members page where there is a picture of each member and maybe a comment from them re the club.

Could add a photo gallery where members can upload ride pictures with comments. They can wait to be authorised before published.

Can I also suggest some links are changed eg the Insurance links so they take you to the correct page instead of the site.

Another idea is to have bike reviews. Add a picture of the bike we have with full spec and costs. Then have a review of it detailing modification done, mileage covered, issues had etc etc.

Then have it all searchable on model and price etc like a shop. Could be useful to aid people in buying their next bike for example.

Something on club trips and cycling holidays would be nice. Not necessarily official club trips as most tend to be just groups that get together for a holiday.

Some nice pics and a little bit of text for a feel of the trip, places stayed that were good bases for the mountains, or say friendly B&Bs that we've visited on the IOW trips.

Could help a) show members and outsiders what we do / have done, and b) provide info for those planning trips of what they can get where and where they can stay.

If you think it has legs I have some pics from the Alps, Riccione, and an IOW road and IOW MTB trip you can have and can find the reports I did and edit and cut them down to something snappier and more dateless, i.e. hopefully won't date and look old on the website after a few months, to get started. I'm sure others have some too.

Also howabout a links page to hold them in one place? Could grab some from the info post with travel, racing, organisations etc.

Can't use paypal again Sean. The club would have to get a credit card to make it viable, previously it was set up against a member's card, who has now left, and even if the person never left the club it's not ideal. Phil had some trouble releasing money from the account for a while. He's been looking in to setting up the same sort of online payment for subs, dinner tickets as sportives use - sientries. Apparantly it works well and they are happy to do what is required without a credit card being registered. I expect it will get picked up again once the sportive has been done and dusted and the funds are in from that and sientries will then have been given a decent trial run.
