Absolutely enthralling Wednesdays stage Froome again showed who should be Sky's number 1 and who should receive their full support if they want to win. Great stuff. Edge of the seat willing him on. Fantastic.

To be fair to Wiggins, it was only two months ago he had his collar bone pinned and 3rd in Paris-Nice and 1st in the Critérium du Dauphiné earned him the right to be team captain. Still the hunger for a few days in red for Wiggins looks as if it could cost Froome from the victory which I have no doubt he would of had if they had swapped team orders once Froome gained the red jersey.
