Tragic, don't know what to say, but condolences to Rob's family and close friends.
The last time I saw Rob was quite a while back, I think either when he sold me his turbo, or when he joined a few of us for some running drills in Lloyd Park.

That is awful news. Top geezer, remember him from the Majorca trip and the swim training a couple of years ago and he was a real good laugh. RIP Rob, I will remember Rob for his very cheery demeanour and his unforgettable laugh.

Very saddened to hear this. Didn't know Rob well but went on the Manchester World Track Champs trip he organised back in 08.

Several have alluded to his sense of humour and related to this, much amusement was had when Rob sold his spare ticket outside - given the British domination and just before Beijing they were in short supply - then after getting in realised that it wasn't spare at all and that he was supposed to have met up with the mate who he'd bought the ticket for. He got it back somehow...

Just heard that the funeral is planned for next friday at 4.30 pm at Beckenham Crematorium. Still no firm news as to the reasons for his collapse.

Forgot to say that the family have requested charity donations rather than flowers. They didn't have a specific charity in mind, but I will be donating to the ibbo fund http://www.johnibbotsonfund.com/

Thoughts go out to Rob's Family. It was a pleasure to ride with Rob, whatever the weather, out in the snow last winter was very enjoyable.
