[quote="Ivor"]who did you send it to for the painting?

It was shotblasted and powdercoated by Adept in west croydon.

The fella there is quite into his cycling, had loads of photos of people at herne hill and palace up, knew addiscombe people and said he lives near Taymar...! and then said he drinks in the lindhurst club where ACC plays darts.

So i'm gonna guess that most know him!

[quote="Marcus"]How is the shoulder btw; have you seen the physio :?:

Its still painful but the swellings going down, still quite deformed and no physio wants to go near it untill the bruising/swelling has subsided.

[quote="Dombo"]Nice fluted seat post. Perhaps pick out the fluting in the same shade of blue?

Its an idea but the post will probable be quite low so you wont see it!

[quote="Amy"]There's a cycle jumble sale coming up at Ripley, 19 June - prime hunting ground for retro bits

I want to go to one of these anyways... are they worth it? well supported ect ect?

Cool thanks for the info, thinking of getting the Joey repainted since the finish is now completely knackered. perhaps a nice addiscombe yellow...

A cycle jumble sale is like any jumble sale - a mixture of good bits, ok bits and a load of junk  There's quite a few regulars, such as a guy who sells old Campag stuff, people selling classic bike bits etc, mixed in with people who have some stuff to sell after clearing out the shed or fitting out a new bike. You just never know what you are going to find... Always find the couriers there too.

I'm going to support a friend who's selling some stuff for an old cycling friend who now has Alzheimers - he's previously sold stuff for people who have died and left their families with sheds loads of old cycling equipment. At the end of one of the Hilly 50s a couple of years' ago, a lady came up to us and asked for assistance in disposing of her husband's tt stuff after he died. I think that's the guy Ivor got his angry chicken helmet from

Enjoying your updates on this. I had a Peugout road bike from the late 80's but the frame got bent in a prang. I transferred the bits to a Raleigh 501 frame but is was never the same. It was occasionally used but another prang bent a crank (not a lucky bike for me). I thought I might fixie it up but I have one I already use for my commute so i will try to restore it to its sort of retro glory. The new paintjob looks great and they are local - what was the ball park price for this though ?
I have stripped off all the bits but I cannot get the fixed cap for the BB off - I do have the right size flat spanner but I cannot shift it - any hints anyone ?
I suppose I will need to try the cycle jumble for the new crank but does anyone know where new or reconditioned versions can be had ?
Thanks in advance for any help.

To get it off bang it in a bench vice and then move the frame!

For a full frame/fork shotblast and two powdercoat sessions adept wanted £70.

Its tougher than paint... and glossy, and in any colour you want!

I had to leave it down at PVT's... i can't wait to get it home lol!

Great to see the info link on Peugeot.

I've still got my 1988 Peugeot - bought brand new in Putney when someone nicked my previous bike which had been locked outside my flat in Wandsworth (I know, stupid of me). It cost £125 - the payout on my insurance claim - but then another £50 for a lock, lights and some other bits and pieces.

I now know what it is - a Tour 10. It used to do a regular run from Wandsworth to Stanmore (my parent's) and its still running and in the original paint - not the most comfortable of rides so I have some 32 cross tyres on it and keep it for recovery rides with my son (we were out last Saturday) who uses my training/commuter bike, and the occasional commute when my usual commuter bike needs some tlc. It has narrow bars (38s) which help in traffic but the dual bars leave something to be desired - marginal braking at the best.

Hope the recovery is going well.
