It's drizzling here in Putney at the moment :(

Hopefully it will dry up... Anyone know how they play it if the track is damp? :|

I doubt that they will be allowed to start on a wet track and since some of the heats are earlier, even if it dries it could extend the programme. I probably won't bother to make the trip if it is still raining at 11.30

well I'm sitting in my house in forest hill (near to the track) and still no sign of rain letting up, not looking good, I cycled past the track earlier today and they wer open and letting in cars etc but expressed doubt about the racing.

Started raining again in Selsdon and not looking good, very overcast, can't see the sun anywhere. :(

I'm not going to make the trip as I think I'd just get very wet without seeing any cycling.

Try again next year :)

Bit of a shame as it's been great wether the last few years.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow and Monday's rides.

Andrew.

Chris, Lisa ,Jo and myself chanced it after an updated weather forcast from our resident ACC forecaster. Its the first time ever we have been and I must admit we thoroughly enjoyed it- me as someone who never watches it on tele either, and who finds that branch of cycle sport a little boring  .
Great power and stamina riding from la Wiggins and Elliot and the CSC guy Luke Roberts- not forgetting Tony Gibb- far too many to mention really. Derny race was excellent fun to watch and really got the crowd going. Pretty sunny all afternoon but a bit nippy, good showing of ACCers. One small critique if I may..... why o why was there only a burger van for refreshments? £1.70 for a coke, tea or coffee- i wont get caught there again ever without a proper picnic, a man of my stature needs feeding 8)

Glad you enjoyed it, dernys racing's always a good laugh. When it was still chucking it down at 11:30 (when I was going to leave for East Croydon) I wrote it off and tried to get chores out the way before the Worlds on Eurosport - At least I got to see a good Hoy victory in the kilo even if I missed Wiggins & co.

You only visit Herne Hill once before you learn to take your own supplies. :D

Hi Ian, next time you're there check the other side of the stands they always have another 'bar' there, selling drinks and tea and coffee was a reasonable £1.00. Fair dues to Richard for taking part, the pace looked high.

We got there about three just in time for some nice sun. It was a great atmosphere and we really enjoyed it and splashed out on the £2 chips. Why not we thought, its the bank holiday !

And who got the loudest cheer in the whole stadium. Was it Bradley Wiggins ? No, it was our understated track sprinter Richard Viney - who did 3 laps of honour to much fanfare and applause ! Well done Richard on moving up the field in the Ron Beckett race - impressive stuff !
