Route from central London to Hillingdon

Can anyone recommend a good route from central London to Hillingdon on a Friday eve? fyi - I am directionally-challenged

Bridget just 1 road all the way there so easy, Bayswater Rd, Notting hill, @ Sheppards Bush make sure you take the Right fork at the green Uxbridge Rd not Goldhawk Rd, Acton, Ealing, thru Southall and turn left @ Wickes next to a tall dilapidated office tower block

I thought there was no good (i.e. nice) route to Hillingdon.
