Frozen Fox rear Shock

Found my rear shock Frozen solid and unwilling to move. Ive let the air out and replace it but no joy. There is no oil leek. The bike has been hung on the wall untouched for probably 8 months.

Where can I send it to get a service or should I buy a new one?

I have since let the air out the front forks, is this the correct think to do when not in use for long periods?

What make is it? It may have sprung an internal leak and the pressurized nitrogen has leaked into the main chamber. Servicing for Fox shocks is done by a firm called Mojo and is around 100 quid or so. Nirvana Cycles in Westcott arrange all my shock servicing. I don't know of any bike shop that does it in-house. Depending on the model, it might be worth replacing. I had a pretty standard Fox air shock that lasted about 8 years then died. Replaced it with an RP23 about 3 years ago and had no trouble since.

It's a Fox RP23, approximately 3 years old.

Found Evans in Gatwick service it, not sure if this is done inhouse, they do have a number of mechanics on site.

I imagine they also use Mojo and send it away for servicing. Changing seals and lubing the thing is a diy job and regularly features in MBR workshop section. However jammed shocks can explode so best left to the pros.

If it was me I would ask Bike Plus to have a look at it. Some years back not long after buying my FS from De Ver Cycles the shock "froze", apparently it is common issue - something to do with air trapped in the air negative chamber I think iirc. De Ver Cycles had a couple of attempts to fix it without success (FS isn't really up De Ver's street) I took it down to Bike Plus and Ben fixed it no problem. It's never reoccurred.

Update. Having put it back on the bike sat on with a weeks holiday worth of wine, beer and red meat, it now moves.
Will still take it along to B+ for a service.
