Well I was going down that Col and they were going up, but I turned back and did a few hundred metres along them - they weren't even trying.

Talking about sticking, about 2km further up the road had turned into a melted tar goo - I think it was meant to be shovelled with gravel but they hadn't done it yet - I told them about it. Wasn't much fun going down on that, cant imagine it being any better going up! There was also a race going down it a few minutes before, must have been a bit scary for them.

Is a nightmare when they are resurfacing the roads before the Tour goes through. Nice couple of shots you got there and weather looks good.

That's pretty decent! I did the Joux Plane both ways, one side has about 2cm of fresh gravel on it for 2km. Try going down round corners on that. And then on the way up my back wheel kept spinning. I also did a sportive and they had to neutralise one of the descents cos it was too dangerous. Then on another one we had a flash storm and there were rivers running down the road, so much so that we couldn't see the big holes in it. One of my STIS came loose bumping into one.
