Wheels, Wheels, Wheels

I think My rear wheel hub is kapput.

On saturday I manager to turn the cassette both ways and it took me ages to try and get it to 'click' back in.

I can't really be without my bike so I am going to buy some dirt cheap wheels until I get it looked at.

Does anyone know anything about the campagnolo vento wheels (£119.99 in butlers)?

I know they are heavy but I don't really care about weight as hopefully the eastons will be back online soon.

Cheers

G

P.S It would give me a change to use my ONCE tyres from Taiwan........

I've run Ventos for the last 18 months (2005's I think 2006 are a bit lighter than mine) and they seem bullit proof. Quite heavy, but run smoothly and still perfectly true. All I've done is keep them fairly clean and they still run like new. I'm keeping them as maintenance free winter wheels, so if you run a campag freewheel and want to try before you buy let me know.

Andrew.

If you're shopping around don't forget you get an agreeable 10% discount at Butlers, so £120 becomes £108.

[quote]campagnolo 10 speed cassette.

Fitted with 9 speed cassette but I believe the freehub for 10 speed is the same. If you have a spare cassette to fit and want to borrow them let me know and we can sort out delivery.

Gavin

I think I have a spare 9-speed Veloce 'ratchety bit' in the garage. It had about 3 weeks' use before I hit a pot-hole and knackered my (new) rim; since a new wheel was cheaper than getting the rim replaced, I ended up with spare hub bits. Is this any use to you?
