Frame resprays

Could anyone recommend a good frame resprayer?

I have managed to get hold of a set of decals for my 1960 Cyril Wren, my very first 'proper' solo bike, courtesy of [url=http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/wren-vines-builders.html]this article[/url] I stumbled upon by accident the other day!

I've found [url=http://www.armourtexcycles.co.uk/]these people[/url] in Hackney which is not so far from where I work.

Might be worth asking at [url]http://talbotframeworks.co.uk/[/url] think they get their frames sprayed by someone else but they're bound to be able to point you in the right direction.

Cheers, Matt. Looks like Talbot (nice frames...) do their own basic painting and use Doktor Bob for fancier paint jobs. They are in Crystal Palace. Was thinking if I take a half day I take my frame into Armourtex one morning and then head back to work for the afternoon but I am running out of leave this year - too many funerals

You could give Phil at Aprire a call, spray their own frames in house and also others such as Corridorri's for them. He's based in Cheam.
Nice bloke, just spent a week in the Czech Republic with him as mechanic on his women's team in the Tour de Feminin so ask him for a good price .

Hi Amy.
The other option is to leave the frame as it is, so it shows the history and age. Some people choose to do this.
I have done both in the past, having one sprayed that was in really bad condition, but leaving one where you could still see the old decals etc.

Cheers, Gary. Yeah, kind of nice idea - however, I had to have some work done on the head set and they repainted the forks the nearest colour they had to the [color=#BF40FF]purple[/color] I had on the rest of the frame .... [color=#0040FF]blue[/color]. Just glad it wasn't [color=#FF80FF]pink[/color] Which reminds me, we must have got the decals for it when Dad rebuilt it for me and it was repainted then. That was in the 80s...

I had a baby pink Roberts time trial bike in the late 70s early 80s Wish I still had it really !!
Yes it got pretty wild in the 80s! Although my Dad had a Paris frame in the 50s which was painted all colours of the rainbow fading Into the other, pretty avant garde I reckon for that time.
You'll have to post a pic when you've sorted it out.
