It looks like someone has finally taken a leaf out of the mountain bikers' book and decided that a 12-hour time-trial is much easier if you don't actually have to ride the whole thing
On 30th July there is what is titled a 12-hour 'tag' time trial. Open to teams of 2, 3 or 4 riders you share the riding between you changing at a fixed point on the route (approximately every 25 miles). Aim as for a normal 12-hour of riding as far as you can in your team's 12-hour time
It's based on a circuit just south of York and looks like it will be run alongside a solo 12-hr event so you can compare the team's distance to the poor sods who have done it all on their own (the solo event was won last year by Kevin Dawson with 291 miles ). Not sure yet whether I want to do it (still trying to come to terms with such a strange idea!) but wondering whether anyone else would be interested?
