This is my story, sad but true
The decision had been made, I was getting that frame. Evans had it in stock, in my size and I could almost afford it.
Yes it was going to be a lean christmas but heck, I was going to get 42 % discount on a frameset that had been lovingly created with latin passion from exotic metal by skilled craftsmen probably singing opera to each other.
The sort of frame that Leonardo Di Vinci might of used if only he'd had the time to work out the real purpose of the wheel (Dumb idea putting it on a flying machine)
Furthermore, I had seen more frames in the last couple of weeks (and with each new "yes I'm diffinately getting that one" gettig more expensive than the previous) than I'd had bike rides in a year.
I needed to get my life back.
So it was that, with cheque book in hand and a grim determination, I set off on that short journey to the shop, nothing, I thought, could happen to change my mind now.
As I walked I thought "I'll call Marco and tell him of my momentous decision"
Famous for his no-nonsense, anti-bling, ride-it-til-snaps philosophy (anyone else celebrate their chains' birthday ?) he immediately picked up on the one niggling doubt I had. No, there was no point getting a frame costing several times the value of my car, that wasn't full titanium because, I was never ever, going to buy another frame again.
So it was that plan "S" went out the window.
I'm now working on plan "T"
Yes a Marco, a custom made full titanium frame for £650 seems ridicously sensible.
can't see myself getting one . . . .
