TT Front wheel question

I am currently being offered a Shorter TT frame with all carbon forks and a choice of carbon front wheels for £200. This seems to me to be a good deal.

However the front wheel is a 650. Does this make any difference in the real world of club TTing and can it be changed later for a 700?

To change from 650 to 700 you would need to change the distance between the drop-out and the brake mount....which probably means a new fork....which would probably bugger up the angle of the frame.

But I'm only guessing.

As usual Marco's right about everything

They were used to get the rider lower at the front and reduce the drag. For the taller ones amongst us it's not necessary as you can get as low as you ever want to with a 700c front.

You can still source 650c tubulars although it can take a bit of searching.

Other drawback is that on the longer TTs you need to carry two spares as your wheels are different sizes unless you want a very long walk home. You may want to think about that as you've been drafted into the ACC 12-hour team
