Something a bit different on Saturday

Postby siwickm » Thu Dec 14, 2006 3:26 pm

As a few of you have been going to the road racing training sessions and a number of you have indicated your desire to race next year, I was thinking that we could do something a bit different on this weeks club run if you are interested in improving your racing.

If we all go out on the normal club run but then stop and meet up in Rusper at the club house, just after the little climb after the turn off for Partridge Lane, then we can get into a group and I can take you around the Rusper road race circuit at a gentle pace.

Once you have been around we can then split into ability groups and have a two lap handicap race on the circuit as a bit of fun. Obviously there will not be marshals etc so will have to be careful through the villages etc, but it should be a laugh as you will have to do through and off in your groups to be able to stay away or catch up.

Anyone fancy it, give you a chance to ride one of the road race routes so you can have one up on the peleton when you race it next year.

Cheers

This is a great idea and sounds very appealing. But it's Mrs A's birthday on Saturday and it may not be politic for me to disappear for about five hours, then come back stinking and filthy and knackered out for the rest of the weekend.

But I'll ask anyway

I don't reckon it will add too much onto the normal club ride. I also know a really good cafe close to the finish line of the course which we could pop into instead of going over to Charlwood and then we could go back to Merstham a slightly different route.

Cheers
